Charm City Reptile Rescue to get large confiscation

Posted by Holli Friedland Tuesday, February 02, 2010 3:01:22 PM

Charm City Reptile Rescue is going to get a large group of confiscated animals 2/11/10. You may have heard about a large confiscation that took place in Texas in December. There were thousands of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates that were part of this confiscation. Rescues all over the country, including Charm City, are helping by taking these animals.

These animals will be posted in our rescue section as soon as they arrive and we can get photos of them.

Many of these animals are insect-eating. We are in desperate need of insect donations.

To donate cash to help us pay the shipping on some donated insects and vet bills, please help us by sending us money through Paypal. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated!

For Sale!

Here’s what happens when you don’t give your leopard gecko enough humidity!

Posted by Holli Friedland Sunday, January 03, 2010 3:35:23 PM

This gecko came in with multiple layers of shed on its eyes and toes. The photos were taken after the animal was soaked and given a humidity chamber. It looked much worse before that.

It may or may not have eyes underneath the layers of skin. It will probably lose most of its toes.

We have given this gecko eye ointment and we are slowly trying to get the shed skin off without removing any live tissue.

This animal must be hand fed because it cannot catch its own food.

Update: The gecko ate a pinkie mouse and has been eating loads of crickets. It still must be hand fed, but is doing well.
